About the Artist
Brian Teixeira, Art with the Grain.
Through it all, the one constant has been a passion for design building and sculpting.
I have been working in the medium of wood for over thirty years. Using techniques including turning, carving and steam bending, I seek to create one of a kind, three dimensional sculptures. Always striving to surpass myself, I spend countless hours experimenting with innovative techniques.
Many years ago, when moving into my first apartment, rather than buy furniture, I purchased a few basic tools from yard-sales and pawn shops and built my own furniture. This decision altered my life. I continued to build furniture as a passion and gradually, over decades, the furniture became art.
My life has found me in many unique situations which a first glance may not seem to relate. I have tagged bears, authored patents in MRI technology, and rendered safe improvised explosive devices. Through it all the one constant has been a passion for design building and sculpting. I recently retired and I am at last free to pursue art and woodwork full time.
